Springfield Raceway falls to late rain shower

Mother Nature decided to make a late appearance Saturday night at the Springfield Raceway just as the Reliable Chevrolet USRA B-Mod feature was ready to roll into action, forcing the track to cancel the rest of the feature events.

The track officials and drivers made a valiant effort to keep the track in shape, and did so until the second pass of steady, misty rain came in.

On Saturday, June 15, the speedway will hold double features with the first feature only allowing the cars that were present and on the line-up board to compete in that feature as it had locked-in the 22 entries. The make-up feature will be an original restart as action had just begun. The second feature will be the scheduled race for that evening.

Action will continue next Saturday night, June 8, with Indigo Sky Casino "Raining Money" featuring the Malvern Bank Cash Money Super Dirt Late Models, Bad Boy Mowers IMCA Modifieds, Reliable Chevrolet USRA B-Mods, Pepsi Pure Stocks, Casey's General Stores Midwest Modz, Wheeler Metals Legend Cars and Mini Late Models.
