Each year we kick off our Racing Season at Springfield Raceway by honoring a friend. Don Haase, October 1, 1962 - April 8, 2008. Don passed young, he was 46. Springfield Raceway track owner Jerry Hoffman & Don had previously worked together back in the mid 90's. Don was the type of guy who could fix anything, he was one heck of a Mechanic. He loved all sports & just being outside. When the raceway was bought back in 2007 a Tech Man was needed. Jerry thought Don would be perfect for the job. Don was the Tech Man for one year and early the next year Don called Jerry at the shop & wanted to talk to him. A few hours later Don showed up & with a big lump in his throat he said he didn't want to Tech anymore, he wanted to do something that he has been wanting to do since he was a kid, he wanted to be the Flag Man.Jerry told Don know problem , it's all yours. Sadly, Don passed away due to Diabetes complications & didn't get to drop the Green Flag that 2008 Season at the Springfield Raceway. So each & every year when time gets here to start the Racing Season Don's Family & his Children; Christopher, Taylor & Lyndsey from Heaven will climb drop the Green Flag in Honor of their DAD to start the first heat Race of the Season as we listen to the song Drift Away by Dobie Gray.
If you didn’t know Don take a little time… & remember someone you know of that has passed away way too soon ….

Springfield Raceway’s points will start in all 7 Classes this Saturday April 4.
Championship points will begin this Saturday.
In the month of April ALL Classes lineup will be OPEN DRAW for the heats & features lined up off of passing points. Beginning in May we will go to our Weekly Racing top 12 point average invert.

About Indigo Sky Casino

Indigo Sky Casino is located in Oklahoma on the border across from Seneca, Missouri. The Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma opened the new $85 million Indigo Sky Casino with a grand opening November 8, 2012. It replaces the tribe's older casino, the Bordertown Casino & Bingo, which operated since 1987. The Bordertown Casino was closed on the same day.

The Indigo Sky Casino features a larger gaming floor, a 117-room hotel, an RV park, and new restaurants. It is located in western Ottawa County on Hwy. 60 west of Seneca, Mo. and a few miles up Hwy. 60 from the old location.

In 2016 an expansion project was underway to add 127 hotel rooms, expand the size of the Shawanoe Restaurant, and to add 8,500 sq-ft of meeting/banquet space. The new 127-room hotel tower opened in September 2017.
