Summer Nationals DIRTcar Late Models return to Springfield Raceway

TUESDAY JUNE 27…

Green Lawn Funeral Homes brings the Summer Nationals DIRTcar Late Models presented by Mr Dent Collision to the Springfield Raceway Tuesday June 27.

This will be the 4th trip to the Springfield Raceway for the DIRTcar Summer Nationals.

Last year's Summer Nationals had 32 DIRTcar Late Model entries as Commerce Georgia’s Peyton Freeman set Busch Light Fast Time Qualifying with a lap time of 12.650. Bryan Shirley from Chatham IL. took home the main event from his 4th starting position. Bobby Pierce out of Oakland IL. was runner up moving from 7th. Max Blair from Centerville Pa. rounded out the top 3.

Springfield Raceway will as well have the popular Indigo Sky Casino POWRi MW Modzs , Hayden Machinery POWRi Midwest Modz & POWRi B Mods. These classes will not receive weekly track points but will be awarded POWRi National points.

Green Lawn Funeral Homes Director and President Jake Diemer was all excited about the Tour coming to his hometown and wasted no time in stepping up to help sponsor the event

Diemer, a former Late Model racer himself started his career in Mini Stocks and quickly moved up to Late Model Racing and was always in contention for the win with several victories under his belt. Jake also competed in the heyday of Asphalt Racing at Springfield running with the likes of Larry Phillip's, Mark Martin, Rusty Wallace and others before competing every weekend on the area's Dirt Tracks.
